Somewhere along the line we were so busy that I completely lost track of when and what I had posted. So to finish off 2019 here are lots of random pictures. I hope you enjoyed the North Pole Express and I hope you'll enjoy these pictures. Already our fourth weekend? Time flies when we're having fun and we hope everyone is having fun when they visit the Country Christmas. Here are lots of random pictures from this weekend. Hope you enjoy them.
Weekend three was clear and cold on Sat but on Sunday snow showed up. People who rode the train said that it was beautiful. The snow was very pretty but the slush that showed up later was not very welcome. The second weekend of 2019 is in the books. The weather was wonderful. There was just one little disappointment. The 1225 was not here. On the way back to Owosso last Sunday night they had some equipment problems and they are working to get it fixed. There were a few disappointed people but most of the people still had a wonderful time.Everyone who comes to town can purchase a sticker at the Information Center in the Village office that will allow them to visit all of our venues. Families will never pay more than $20.00 for their stickers no matter how many immediate family members there are. Also, if you live in the village of Ashley you can get a free sticker by providing some proof that you live in the village. ex. water bill, drivers license. If you want to visit more than one time just bring back your old sticker to get a new one.Sadly, this year Gus' Eatery & Saloon has closed. There are seven other eateries, including three food trucks added this year, to serve our guests. We hope that you all find something to suit your tastes. Check out the menus on the Eateries page!
Our Santas are very well informed about everything that Santa needs to know because they are graduates of the Charles W. Howard Santa School. It's the oldest Santa school in the world and it's right here in Midland, Michigan. Yesterday there were about 300 Santas, Mrs. Claus, elves and friends who came to Owosso to ride the North Pole Express.
It's still summer for most of us but Christmas will be here before we know it. We have started preparations for the Country Christmas already and we can use some help. We will be meeting every Thurs from now until the first train arrives. Come and see if there's anything you can help us with. We can use all kinds of help, painting, sorting, decorating, cleaning. You name it and we'll probably be doing it. We meet at 9:00 to get our assignments and we break at noon for a pot luck lunch. Then we work until we're tired (usually by 3:00). Hope to see lots of you come when you can.
